Is it a bird, is it a plane?! Well yes, it is a plane… and a car! (It isn’t a bird.. we don’t think!)
Could this actually be the first flying car to be available to purchase from the production line? Aeromobil, who are the creators behind this futuristic vehicle, say that they are not far off!
Aeromobil are calling this "near to complete" prototype the “Car-Plane Hybrid”, and believe that the finished product could be available to purchase by customers in the next two/three years. Jural Vaculik, CEO of Aeromobil, is hoping the creation will “change personal transport on a global scale”.
Aeromobil have announced that the car-plane hybrid, when complete, will be capable of reaching 100mph on land and approximately 124mph in the air. The vehicle, which has two seats, can take off with only 750 feet of runway which is considerably shorter than what a standard aircraft would require.
The prototype has taken their team 10 months to build and Aeormibil have revealed that the vehicle features a parachute for emergencies as well as an autopilot function!
It looks pretty cool to us, but we just hope this flying car lasts longer than Marty’s DeLorean in Back to the Future!
