The Nissan GT-R R35 Hybrid Upgrade


The Nissan GT-R R35 upgrade is a popular service at Turbo Dynamics (HybridTurbos.com). The service offers a more effective alternative to replacing an existing turbocharger, upgrading it to one of our Hybrid specifications instead. There are different upgrades available to purchase which are specificly designed to suit individual requirements – some are designed to produce the ultimate power possible from the stock manifold set-up, other upgrades are engineered to provide improved standard response and certain ones are built to create a 100% 'bolt on' for fitment ease. Each specification offers extremely impressive gains in comparison to a standard turbocharger - including the capability of producing atleast 1000bhp!

Stage 1 IHI

This is our MD525 Hybrid Turbo (for the left) and our MD526 Hybrid Turbo (for the right). Both of these turbos are 100% 'bolt on' - No fitment issues.

The MD525 and MD526 Hybrid Turbo Upgrade comprises of the following:

  • TD designed 6 Blade Billet Aluminium MFS Compressor Wheel - these provide optimun airflow
  • Modification of the compressor cover in order to suit a new larger compressor wheel
  • Opening of compressor cover inlet in order to suit larger intake pipes (these are sold separately)
  • Modification of the turbine wheel in order to reduce backpressure
  • Modification of the turbine housing in order to accommodate a new larger turbine wheel
  • Ported turbine housing inlets
  • Bar Actuator (1.0)
  • Billet Aluminium Actuator Brackets
  • Boost maximum recommendation of 22-24 PSI
  • Output Power estimate of 700-720 bhp

 Stage Two GT-R Upgrade

Stage 2 IHI

This is our MD525S Hybrid Turbo (for the left) and the MD526S Hybrid Turbo (for the right). Both of these turbos are 100% 'bolt on' - no fitment issues.

The MD525S and MD526S Hybrid Turbo Upgrade comprises of the following:

  • TD designed 6 Blade Billet Aluminium MFS Compressor Wheel - these provide optimun airflow
  • Modification of the compressor cover in order to suit a new larger compressor wheel
  • Opening of the compressor cover inlet in order to suit larger intake pipes (these are sold separately)
  • Large trim turbine wheel
  • Modification of the turbine housing in order to accommodate a new larger turbine wheel
  • Choice of bar Actuators (1.0 or 1.2)
  • Billet Aluminium actuator brackets
  • Maximum boost recommendation of 22-24 PSI
  • Output Power estimate of 750-800 bhp
  • Ported turbine housing inlets

 Stage 1 GT-r Upgrade

Stage 1 Garrett

This is our MDX600 Hybrid Turbo (for the left) and the MDX601 Hybrid Turbo (for the right).

The MDX600 & MDX601 Hybrid Turbos Upgrade comprises of the following:

  • Garrett's GT28 Dual Ball Bearing CHRA (fitted)
  • TD designed ‘Motorsport’ bearing upgrade (fitted)
  • TD designed 6 Blade Billet Aluminium MFS Compressor Wheel to provide optimum airflow
  • Modification of the compressor cover in order to suit new larger compressor wheel
  • Opening of compressor cover inlet to suit larger intake pipes (these are sold separately)
  • Heavy modification of the existing turbine housing in order to accept the Garrett CHRA
  • Choice of bar Actuators (1.0 or 1.2) 
  • Billet Aluminium actuator brackets
  • Maximum boost recommendation of 28-30 PSI
  • Replacement water and oil lines are required - these will be sold separately
  • Output Power estimate of 750-800 bhp
  • Ported turbine housing inlets

  • Heavy modification of existing turbine housing in order to accept Borg Warner's EFR CHRA
  • Choice of bar Actuators (1.0 or 1.2)
  • Billet Aluminium actuator brackets
  • Maximum boost recommendation of 28-30 PSI
  • Replacement water and oil lines are required - these will be sold separately
  • Estimated Power Output: 800 bhp

The MD628 and MD629 Hybrid Turbos Upgrade comprises of the following:

  • Borg Warner's 6 Blade Billet Aluminium Compressor Wheel - to provide optimum airflow
  • Modification of the compressor cover in order to suit the new larger compressor wheel
  • Opening of the compressor cover inlet in order to suit larger intake pipes (these are sold separately)
  • Heavy modification of the existing turbine housing in order to accept BorgWarner's EFR CHRA
  • Choice of bar Actuators (1.0 or 1.2)
  • Billet Aluminium actuator brackets
  • Maximun boost recommendation of 28-30 PSI
  • Replacement water and oil lines are required - these will be sold separately
  • Power Output estimate of 850-900 bhp
